The patchwork technique has always fascinated me. But they seemed complicated and lengthy to me. In addition, to make the work look spectacular, it is better to purchase special sets of patchwork fabrics.
What can I say? I love sewing, and I have accumulated a lot of different fabrics. And there are a lot of scraps from which I could sew something. But all my fabrics are so mixed and heterogeneous that I would hardly be able to make even a minimal set of them.
Still, I didn't give up hope that something would work out.
Being a housewife and homeschooler, I have long come to the conclusion that achieving a goal consists of small steps. Therefore, I have learned to break down any creative process into short stages one hour long.
As for patchwork, I'm new here. So I've chosen the simplest pattern marked 'for beginners' and got to work. My choice has fell on the Friendship Star. So, a month later, four serving napkins have appeared.
As I expected, the process has turned out to be laborious. But I have tried it, found out what patchwork really is, and I liked it. I have realized that I would continue to sew from scraps.
Of course, these napkins didn't turn out to be as spectacular as I've seen in various posts. But they decorate the table and create a more cozy atmosphere. And the kids are just thrilled that they can put their plates on napkins.
